Arts Santa Mònica is a unique arts center that hosts dozens of exhibitions throughout the year, focusing on contemporary works by Spanish and international artists. It’s housed in an 18th century convent remodeled by architects Helio Piñón and Vicenç Vilaplana.

The Center’s primary objective is to promote the study, interpretation, production, and exhibition of contemporary art, with a special focus on Catalonian art and its place within the international arts scene. Effectively, it scans the creative landscape for new and exciting work that celebrates Catalonian heritage and contemporary culture. The space is open to the public and provides a unique environment where visitors can view and reflect on art, participate in a vibrant cultural scene, and stay engaged in the world and the city around them.

Areas of barcelona Ciutat Vella

To know Ciutat Vella is to know the origins of Barcelona: the old Barcino. The essence of what we know today as the historical nucleus of the city arose from the walled enclosure that surrounded it, where the Roman ruins coexist with medieval Gothic.
